The red dragon fruit with white interior (Hylocereus Undatus) grows in
the American southwest and parts of northern Central America. This
variety is particularly pungent, although much smaller than the other
varieties. The exterior skin of the red dragon fruit is bright pink with
short, spiked folds along the edges. Under proper conditions, the red
dragon fruit with a white interior will bloom during the night.
